Goldenrod Identification and Relationship with Birds
Herbaceous perennial ranging from 2 to 5 feet in height, Goldenrod blooms small yellow flowers in tall clusters, from August to October. The flowers are a favorite of insects (especially butterflies), which in turn attract insectivorous birds. The seeds of Goldenrod are known to attract a long list of birds, primary being the American Goldfinch.
