Very high in fatty oil and protein, peanuts are a favorite of Blue Jays, Tufted Titmice, and Woodpeckers. Hulled (shell removed) peanuts are easier for birds to consume and make less of a mess than shelled peanuts, though shelled are cheaper and will still be eaten. Offering peanut hearts is another option and because they’re smaller than whole peanuts and they will attract more birds. The best way to provide peanuts is on a platform feeder.
